1985 Citroen 2CV 6 'Deux Chevaux' - Sold

This Citroen 2CV 6 Club was refurbished in The Netherlands in about 2013/2014 and then sold into Calgary, Canada shortly after, and has been here since. Only about 3,000 fair-weather km have been put on the car since the car was built up by marque experts from a new galvanized chassis. Mileage is indicated at 96,xxx km. It still shows as fresh.

The body panels and undercarriage are rust and damage free. A paint meter records paint depth consistent with a quality repaint. Paint quality is excellent. The soft top looks unused. The interior fabric is new. All electrical accessories work properly.

Suspension and drivetrain were refurbished. As the running gear was not disassembled, the engine, gearbox and clutch work seamlessly together with a fluidity not often seen with rebuilt components. Cold start, idle and general drivability are excellent. The vehicle does not leak anymore than trace amounts, and there are no strange noises that come from the engine, gearbox or brakes.

This vehicle has no trouble keeping up with traffic and can hold 100km/hr with relative ease. It is stable at speed and braking is reassuring.

Restoration costs have risen quite dramatically in the last 10 years, and it would cost at least $50,000 to duplicate this car in Canada.

The 'Deux Chevaux' is a charming period piece, a fun and practical entry level classic, and a technically fascinating design from arguably the world's most innovative car company.
