2010 LEXUS HS250h JDM -Incoming March 2025
VIN: ANF10-2031515
32,958km
The Lexus HS250h was one of the first luxury hybrid vehicles. The HS250h combines the efficiency of a Toyota Prius drivetrain with the luxury of a Lexus sedan.
The HS250h uses a powertrain similar to the Toyota Prius, but with a larger 2.4L Atkinson Cycle engine and electric motor giving 187 system hp - offering substantially improved performance.
As with the Prius, the Lexus HS250h has a planetary gearbox and Toyota's 'Synergy Drive' which allows the vehicle to run purely on electric power, the combustion engine, or both. Allowing the engine to shut off completely in slow speed maneuvering or when coasting or slowing down, saves a considerable amount of fuel over more basic hybrid systems in city driving. Much attention was given to aerodynamics and this Lexus has a Cd. of .27 which is excellent for a 4-door sedan.
The HS250h has a much more sophisticated suspension system than the Prius, doing away with a solid beam axle, and replacing it with a sophisticated double wishbone design with coil springs. MacPherson struts and coil springs are utilized on the front suspension, along with electric rack and pinion power steering.
Much attention was paid to NVH with many design elements carried over from the larger Lexus sedans: Dynamic dampers at each engine-mounting point reduce noise and vibration, resonators improve intake air noise, and optimized exhaust flow reduces exhaust sound.
The HS250h came standard with a host of driving aids including lane departure warning and a wide-angle front camera. Other standard feature including heated and ventilated seats, heated steering wheel, keyless entry and drive, full leather interior, sunroof, etc. were unique among early Hybrid vehicles.
Though the 187hp HS250h isn't light at 3,700lbs, and offers 0-100km acceleration under 9 seconds, it is still rated for 5.7L/5.6/5.9 Litres per 100km (combined/City/Highway) by Transport Canada. The 134hp Prius is rated at 3.8L/100km (combined) in comparison.
This Lexus HS250h is a Japanese Domestic Market (JDM) vehicle first registered in March 2010. It is an auction grade 4.5, which is the highest grade for a used vehicle. The only flaws noted are a mark on the front bumper cover and a one one each front door - all too small to photograph. It will be eligible to be imported into Canada in March 2025 and is currently in Japan, awaiting shipment to Canada.
