About the 2019 Range Rover:
The 4th generation Range Rover, or L405, was produced from 2013 to 2022. It replaced the L422 (2003-2011) and has just been replaced by the new L460 Range Rover.
The L405 represented a substantial departure from previous Range Rovers in that it had an entirely aluminum unitary body (monocoque), where its predecessor's was steel. This cut the weight by more than 400kg. The weight saving, a new 8 speed automatic gearbox, and a much more aerodynamic body make this version significantly more efficient than its predecessors. Handling and acceleration are also much improved. Full time all wheel drive, a low range transfer box, and a sophisticated terrain response system mean that the big Rover is as capable off road as ever.
The L405 carried over its Jaguar developed 5.0 V8 in normally aspirated and supercharged form, producing 375hp and 510hp respectively. The supercharged variant can accelerate to 100km/hr in less than 5 seconds, which is hugely impressive for a vehicle this size.
About this Range Rover Rover
This Land Rover was purchased by a Medicine Hat resident from Calgary Land Rover, and has led an easy life accumulating less than 44,000km since July 2019 when it was delivered. It has required only regular servicing which has been done by Land Rover Calgary and Murray Hyundai in Medicine Hat - who have a dedicated tech who looks after local high end and specialty vehicles. The vehicle has been maintained fully to Land Rover service guidelines. It has full factory warranty until July 31, 2023.
The condition is impossible to reasonably fault for the year and mileage. There is some minor pitting to the windscreen, but no chips or cracks. All body panels retain their original factory paint, and protective film as been applied to the entire front clip from new. The interior is free from any rips, tears, stains or noticeable leather wear. New 'All Weather' tires were installed in the fall of 2022. Two of the rims have some extremely minor 'curb rash'. An oil change and brake fluid flush will be performed as part of the sale.
This vehicle was involved in a minor rear end collision which necessitated the replacement of the tailgate, rear bumper cover and muffler. No exterior metal panels were damaged and all retain their original paint. New parts were bolted to the monocoque which was never damaged, and this is evidenced by a letter from the body shop manager of the shop that did the work.
The vehicle has been professionally detailed, including the undercarriage and inside of the wheels.
The replacement L460 Land Rover is significantly more expensive, with models in the showroom starting at more than $220,000 and this is before $20k+ in luxury tax and GST. This Rover is significantly less than half the price of a new one.
