Bring a Trailer Local Partner

Bring a Trailer Local Partner

For owners who want to maximize the value of their cars, but don't have the time, inclination or equipment to represent their specialty vehicle to the standard that the market demands, BAT is endorsing 'Local Partners' to assist owners in marketing their vehicles. BAT has chosen such businesses that understand the community that BAT has created and know how to present unique vehicles and manage the auction process for the best results.

About Bring a Trailer:

With more than 1,400,000 subscribers, and 70,000 of them in Canada, BAT has become the largest dedicated collector and specialty car community in the world. BAT brings together a curated yet disparate collection of automobiles, adds high quality presentations and puts them in front of knowledgable enthusiasts who add commentary in an auction format. This attracts the buyers who are given the details and transparency they need to bid on vehicles on-line. BAT has created something approaching a 'Perfect Market' - combining buyers, sellers and information. Coupled with low fees, this has transformed Bring a Trailer into a market leader.

Romanosky Automotive Services:

Romanosky Automotive has been active on BAT since 2011 and has listed more than 40 vehicles and generated over 1,600 'likes' from 839 comments. We have achieved BAT records for both our 2005 Spyker C8 Spider and our 2000 Toytoa Will Vi, though it should be mentioned that BAT has only sold one Will! We are now very pleased to part of the BAT Partner Program, and can now represent our client's cars in an 'official' capacity.

Over the years we have developed a process for preparing a vehicle for on-line auctions so that it presents its very best. Read about it here. Depending on the vehicle, we can advise on what reconditioning work provides the greatest net added value.

The standards and expectations for vehicle presentation for on-line auctions are very high, and getting higher with each passing year. 200-300 good quality photographs including undercarriage shots, walk-around and driving videos and well organized and detailed service records are the new norm. Remember, you are asking somebody to send a large quantity of money to somebody they don't know, for a car they have not seen, possibly in a different country.

The standards for seller involvement during the auction are also very high. The expectation is that the car is presented honestly, and that any questions are answered quickly and accurately. The commentators can be quite demanding and have little patience for the typical car salesman 'puffery'. They can be quite critical, demanding some delicacy and patience to keep the auction on track. Logistics and associated Customs, Brokerage and Tariffs are always a big topic, and need accurate commentary.

Our 'style' is to feed the commentators what they want - knowledge - while politely countering objections and providing very detailed answers to questions. Our videos normally take about 1 hour - much longer than the norm - and literally go over every square inch of the car, including a detailed examination of the undercarriage.

More than just doing a competent job of preparation and documentation, we immerse ourselves into your car, learn as much as we can about it, and create lively and positive discourse which gives emotional reasons for collectors to bid.
